Decades of Dance, February 2006
"Decades of Dance" celebrated the dancing and choreography of 8-year-olds to 90-year-olds, taking back ownership of the moving body for human beings of all ages and cultures. The evening proceeded chronologically through each decade of life. The first piece, billed as a “hip hop hat dance” was performed by eight-year-old Gabe Pimsler, who has been dancing since age 4. The evening concluded with three groups with dancers in age category 60-92 including the intergenerational dance company Kairos Dance Theater.

Performers included (chronologically) Gabe Pimsler, dancers from the MN Chinese Dance Theater, Students from South West High, Amber and Jesse of Wilderness, Roxane Wallace of Stuart Pimsler Dance Theater (SPDT), Colleen Tague of Ballet of the Dolls, Suzanne Costello and Stuart Pimsler of SPDT, Eric Boone and Bill Zimmerman performing Robin Steihm’s choreography, the Royal Scottish Country Dance Society, and Kairos Dance Theater. - photos by Kairos Dance Theater
